Welcome to Barium Springs Home for Children!
Since 1891, we have been committed to a safe and nurturing family life for every child. Barium Springs serves North Carolina's children and families by providing a caring place to live for abused or neglected children, early childhood development for low income families, counseling services and foster family programs. We also offer behavior treatment in a school setting for troubled teens as well as early intervention services for children still living in the community.

Children’s Miracle Network’s founding commitment was that all funds raised would stay within the community in which they are generated, supporting the Children’s Miracle Network hospital affiliate in the area. Children’s Miracle Network has kept that promise.

All funds raised through Children’s Miracle Network for its member hospitals are provided to each hospital solely as discretionary funds that can be used to address the most critical children’s healthcare needs in their respective communities.

The Hope House is run by the Hope House Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization that was formed to provide transitional housing, support and life skill training for displaced individuals who are in-need. Click HERE to learn more Hope House.

Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman
In December 1998, Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region opened a branch office in Davidson to better serve North Mecklenburg County, Western Cabarrus County, and Southern Iredell County patients. Initially, this office was located on S. Main Street in Davidson and was known as Hospice at Charlotte-Lake Norman. In October 2004, the organization felt it was important to more readily identify itself with the needs of the Lake Norman community and changed the name to Hospice Lake Norman.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants a wish every 40 minutes.

The Central and Western North Carolina Chapter was founded in 1985 by Dr. Jerry Clark in Greensboro, NC, in honor of his wife Charlotte. The chapter covers 51 counties from Alamance county west. We have never turned down the wish of an eligible child.

Shriners Hospitals for Children® is a health care system of 22 hospitals dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing specialty pediatric care, innovative research and outstanding teaching programs. Children up to the age of 18 with orthopaedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries and cleft lip and palate are eligible for admission and receive all care in a family-centered environment with no financial obligation to patients or families.
